With warmer temperatures comes more reasons to get out-and-about, whether it’s exploring outdoor recreation opportunities or enjoying some outdoor dining. It also means a revitalized community events calendar, featuring celebrations of all kinds for people of all tastes across Spartanburg County.

MARCH

March 14: Delaney's annual Shenanigans on the Square St. Patrick's Day celebration will feature live music, drink and food specials, and as always, plenty of green.


APRIL

April 10-11: Hub City Hog Fest Spartanburg’s most-popular barbecue bash returns April 4 and 5, benefiting Mobile Meals of Spartanburg. Sample pulled pork, wings, sides, and more from competing pitmasters looking to earn top prize during this certified SC Barbecue competition. Along with all the BBQ you can want, there will be live music and local vendors set up across downtown.


 

MAY

May 1: The Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System Criterium Spartanburg’s favorite cycling race and tailgate party returns on May 1, part of a major weekend of events in Downtown Spartanburg specifically. The annual CRIT is a closed-circuit, multi-lap bike race twisting and turning through the streets of Downtown. The CRIT is the ultimate night of speed, complete with amateur, professional, and even special childrens’ cycling races throughout the day and night.

May 2: The Cribbs Burger Cook-Off featuring teams cooking and serving up samples of creative burgers, all in the hopes of becoming a permanent menu item at Cribbs Kitchen. And maybe best of all, the entire event benefits Children’s Cancer Partners of the Carolinas.

May 2: Mezcal’s Cinco de Mayo Celebration will take over Morgan Square the same day, complete with live music, multi-cultural celebrations, and food from across the globe.

 

RECURRING EVENTS

Inman Market on Mill – March, April, May The small business-focused market will be a recurring event on Mill Street in Inman throughout the spring. Local vendors will be set up and children’s activities will be open. For up-to-date information about this event follow @MarketOnMill on Instagram.


Music on Main – Thursdays, April-July Downtown Spartanburg’s longtime music series returns to Morgan Square starting in April. Music on Main happens every Thursday from 5:30-8:30 PM through July.


Spartanburg ArtWalk – Third Thursdays Participating museums and galleries are open from 5 – 8pm. Light refreshments are usually served.
