The 2026 Pickle Smash & Burger Bash is a competitive, professionally organized Southern Pickleball tournament hosted at Va-Du-Mar McMillan Park in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Players can expect a fun, well-run event with guaranteed matches, skill-based brackets, and great competition.

Play may begin as early as 8:00 AM each day.
Specific start times will be emailed and posted approximately one week prior to the event.

Southern Pickleball guarantees a minimum of four (4) matches per team per event.

Tournament management may combine brackets if necessary to create playable divisions. If brackets are combined, awards will still be based on the original bracket in which players registered.

Skill levels are based on DUPR ratings:

• 2.5 – 2.999 and below

• 3.0 – 3.000–3.499

• 3.5 – 3.500–3.999

• 4.0 – 4.000–4.499

• 4.5 – 4.500–4.999

Players must:

• Play at the skill level of the higher-rated partner

• Register in the division allowed by their current DUPR rating

• All matches will be reported to Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating (DUPR).

• Players are responsible for verifying scores before their next match begins.

• Ratings with 50% or higher reliability will be reviewed after registration closes.

• Players may be moved to a higher division if their updated rating exceeds their registered division.

• Players with under 50% reliability may appeal to play lower.

• Appeals must be emailed to info@southernpickleball.com before registration closes, and both partners must agree.

Players with multiple DUPR accounts should contact support@dupr.com to merge accounts. Multiple accounts may result in withdrawal at the Tournament Director’s discretion.

If registering with a partner:

• Your partner must register within 5 days of your registration.

• If not, your team will move to the waitlist.

• Registration is not guaranteed until both players are registered and fully paid.

If selecting “Need a Partner”:

• This is a courtesy feature.

• It does not guarantee a partner will be assigned.

• Players without partners must follow the tournament refund policy if withdrawing.

No. All matches are self-monitored, and players are expected to uphold good sportsmanship.

The Southern Pickleball Association follows the official USA Pickleball Rulebook for gameplay and officiating standards. Tournament management reserves the right to deviate when necessary.

Players are encouraged to review the official rulebook prior to competition.

Approved paddles must be listed on either:

• The UPA-A amateur approved paddle list

• The USA Pickleball approved paddle list

Players using unapproved paddles may be subject to forfeit at the discretion of tournament officials.
